Wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice comfort food meal and we’re overall pleased with our experience here. We had seen people review this place for years but had just never made it to this cute little spot on the east side! We walked in and were quickly greeted and sat. After being sat our friendly waitress came over and recommended some top picks! After some talking we decided to order the rib meal with potato salad and baked beans. Wife ordered the chicken and red velvet waffles with sides of creamed corn and Mac and cheese. Let’s start with our top / best of the meal: 1.Fried Chicken was Amazing!! Amazing breading. 2. Creamed corn was the best side hands down followed with a close second of the Mac and cheese. Now the not so good: 1. The ribs. They were very chewy and gross. I didn’t wanna send them back because they were still edible but wouldn’t ever get them again. 2. Baked beans tasted like canned baked beans. Overall we left with a good feeling and will be back. Especially with the super friendly service! Next time we just won’t get the ribs haha!

The food was definitely worth the wait. It’s cooked to order so if you’re expecting fast, then this is the wrong spot. We were seated quickly and had the most attentive staff throughout our stay. All of the food was seasoned well- not too much, not too little. I’m a vegetarian and enjoyed the mustard green grill cheese sandwich with sides of yams and cabbage. Keep in mind, they’re greens are favored with turkey but the meat is removed so if you’re a pure vegetarian, the menu may be a bit challenging. They do have an all vegetable plate, but most of the sides have bacon or some meat in it. All in all, Perfect blend/balance to sustain me for quite a bit.

A delicious experience at His Place Eatery. In town for sporting event. Downtown Indy is a great spot for fun and games, but I NEEDED some southern cooking in my life. A quick Google search revealed numerous 4 and 5 star reviews for His Place, which was more than enough evidence to give them a try. We arrived at opening on Saturday. The staff was immediately hospitable. 'Lo was our server and she radiated great vibes throughout our visit. The menu is both impressive and daunting--trust me, you want everything on it. Chicken and waffles, barbecue, food fried and/or smothered and YES, peach cobbler. My 15 year old had the peach cobbler chicken and waffles (nope, not a misprint) while I had smoked meatloaf. Collard greens were fresh and tasty with just a tangy hint of vinegar. Meatloaf had mild amount of smoke, dressed with barbecue sauce. The food was so good, the menu so killer, I thought "this place deserves to be on 'Diners Drive-Ins and Dives'". Turns out it already has been on! At His Place, they serve you like you were Guy Fieri and that alone makes a great meal a 5 star meal. BRAVO ❤️💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
